Fall is a beautiful time of year, isn't it?

I've noticed some strange people lately, though.

This guy hasn't introduced himself to me yet but I think his name must be Adam. Why else would he wear leaves?

Oh, that's right. It's time for Trunks Full o' Treats. That explains a lot.

I know what I want to be this year.

I'm still looking for my Kate Winslet.

Jack and Florence

Have you ever had green grapes? Perfectly ripe green grapes?

There's nothing like them, is there?

This is my friend Jack. I've known him for years. Pastor Paul introduced us.

Jack and his wife, Florence, had a picnic and invited me along. Florence had managed to find some of those perfect green grapes and Jack was feeding them to me like candy.

They were so good!

Next thing I know, I'm waking up to the sound of Jack and Florence talking.

Florence: "Jack, you shouldn't have thrown him so hard."

Jack: "Well that little bugger BIT me. I was just being nice to him and he BIT me."

I'm sorry Jack. I guess I get a little excited when I get perfect green grapes. I promise to be more careful next time.

Another new friend

This is my new friend Inez.

Hey, anyone who offers to take me to lunch is my friend.

I've been doing some sightseeing. I'll share some of my pictures with you when I get a chance.

Ta-ta for now! (Inez taught me to say that.) It means "Time for lunch way down in the Brown Bin Buffet".

Cletus and Ella Sue

These are some new friends I've made on this trip. Cletus is a retired military man. He knows the guys who gave me the ride and he saved me when I was stuck.

Cletus is so nice. After he and Ella Sue got me down, he gave me a lift. Ella Sue pushed us and we went FAST.

Cletus told me I had to help make the vroom, vroom noises in order to ride with him. My vroom, vroom came out sounding kind of like "snort, snort".

Cletus decided I made a better horn than a motor so when someone would step out in front of us, he'd give me a squeeze. I'd squeal and the path in front of us would open right up. We make a great team!

I'm enjoying Kentucky so much that I'm not sure how soon I'll come back home. Sorry, Pastor Paul. The weather here is beautiful and the people are very nice.

I'm not too fond of the cooking they do here in the south. They seem to use a lot of bacon grease in their cooking. It just isn't right.

Unexpected landing

Next time I go for an amusement park ride, maybe I'd better plan ahead a bit better.

Guys? Hey, guys? How about a hand here? The flying was a lot of fun but I'm kinda stuck on the landing part.

Guys?

Guys?

I wonder why I hear a lot of laughing off in the distance?

Lunch

Aah, today I found some good grub.

A smorgasbord.

A buffet.

Good eats.

I was willing to share, but my friends didn't want any.

Imagine that.

Dinner time

My trip has been going well. My friends and I are having a good time.

We all got hungry and stopped for some dinner.

My friends asked where I wanted to eat. Since Pastor Paul never takes me out, I'm not familiar with any restaurants. I told them to go ahead and choose whatever they like.

They chose a place with a friendly sounding name and we all went in, anxious for some grub.

Now I'm waiting for them outside. I guess they just weren't thinking.

It didn't occur to them that there'd be a cook inside this place with a big butcher knife and a recipe for killer sausage.

I think people in this country eat way too much pork.

Waiting for my ride

I'm leaving on a little trip. I'm not sure where I'm going. It's a surprise.

I was invited to travel with some friends. Since they are such good friends, I accepted.

I hope we're going someplace warmer than it has been here the last few days.

Or maybe we're going to take a color tour up north.

I'll be sure to keep you all up to date on my travels every chance I get. Maybe if I had a nice laptop like Pastor Sarah has, I could update you every day. Or several times a day.

I think I see my friends coming now. See you later!

Taking time out

before I leave on my trip to pray for all the prayer requests.

I'm glad I have email now so I can get a copy of all the prayer requests that come through.

I'd close my eyes to pray, but God didn't make me that way. I'm sure it's ok with Him that I don't close my eyes.

God will listen to your prayers, too, even if your eyes are open.

Pastor Paul told me that before.

Patriotic pig

I never did get to meet the mayor yesterday. I suppose he's a very busy man.

I thought of one thing I could do to help him anyhow.

I decided to pose for pictures at the courthouse.

The city can use the photos for publicity. Our historic courthouse, a good looking pig...sounds like a winning combination, doesn't it?

I'm sure the mayor will be anxious to meet me, too, once he sees my pictures.

I could be Lapeer's ambassador. I could travel the world on goodwill missions for Lapeer. I could be famous!

But first, I have to figure out how to get un-stuck from this porch railing.
